  All Unquiet Things written by Anna Jarzab   I love this book.  I just love this book.  In the hands of another writer, this easily could have turned into one of those bad trashy teen stories about drugs, murders, and girls with no inhibitions, but Anna Jarzab transformed it into a story so much deeper than meaningless teen fun.  Her characters are well-developed and complicated, rather than narrow one-sided facades.   She put the meaning and depth before the content.  Told from the authentic perspective of a dead girl's ex-boyfriend, the story automatically takes on a fresh new angle on a murder mystery--told from the perspective of a confused teen dealing with losing the same girl twice.  Most authors would have gone with telling the story from Audrey, the dead girl's friend's, point of view, but Jarzab decided to go a different route, which made for an fascinating story.  There's never a dull moment in the intricate storytelling, leading...

If so, favorite reading snack? A: Nope, when I'm reading, I just read, and occasionally listen to music, either very softly or lyricless music. Q: What is your favorite drink while reading? Invisible Lines written by Mary Amato Invisible Lines has a narrator quite unlike any other, though comparable to Julius Zimmerman, titular character of Claudia Mills' You're a Brave Man, Julius Zimmerman . The book reads in a warmly funny and stingingly honest style reminiscent of Andrew Clements, with a highly likable and humorous narrator in Trevor Musgrove. While parts were slightly predictable in a way often found in children's books, there are plenty of completely unforeseen plot elements. Everything about this book is enthralling, the humor and realness keeping the readers' attention the whole way through. There is a perfect balance struck between seriousness and humor. Issues such as a missing father figure and domestic violence are dealt with, but in a child-friendly way that is both honest and appropriate.
